Set wife and myself up as trusted on each other's phones. Maps won't show locations. Have to link Gmail accounts to email client to get notification requests for location. Waste of time. G+ locations was 100 times better. Hope wife doesn't get in a wreck on deserted highway in winter.
Not accurate. Bring back locations in Google+. This app is very difficult to navigate and does not show accurate location, it also drains the battery really fast. We never had this problem with Google+, I also had a great piece of mind knowing I could locate my son at anytime with Google+. It is pretty crappy how there was no notice on this change!
I love this idea. Gonna pitch this idea to my parents. I have a request though, Google, please add widget support for automatically and instantly with one button press, sharing of your location with a set person that is chosen the first time you press it to get it ready for use. Also it would be great to have a "Oh crap" kind of version where you can add a widget that automatically will do an Alert to all your trusted contacts.
This app has lots of problems. Firstly the location updates are not real time. There is always a refresh gap of 3-4 minutes between the real location and the location being displayed in the app. This refresh interval can not be changed. Even if I refresh the screen manually, the new location does not update in real time. Secondly, the map display area is very small. Why not show a bigger map?
Great idea. But it is not trustable. It fails MANY times. I usually do not get the other person's location, even when she sees the notification and allows the sharing. Or the answer comes more than 5 minutes later. And the last time the other person used the phone is not displayed correctly. I know she used the phone 5 minutes ago, but the app tells me her last activity was 2 hours ago.
The whole thing does not sync with Google Maps as it is supposed to. In fact, Google Maps does not even mention that this App is necessary to use it a similar way to Locations that has been arbitrarily dropped with no notification whatsoever. I used it to keep in visual touch with a vulnerable person - this has just been axed and the set up is much more complicated than it was, because it just doesn't all fit together as we are led to believe it will. It crashed my phone twice!
