This app lacks basically two things. 1. Can't view shows while not on the Google Fiber network. AT&T Uverse and Time Warner both have this functionality and Google Fiber app doesn't. Have kids that we use to keep entertained using the competition apps while we were away from home, can't do that with Google Fiber app. 2. Only my account works with Google Fiber. I don't want to put my account on everyone's tablet in the house so they can watch TV on their tablets. Too bad there isn't a way to add additional users as sub users. Each member of the family has their own tablet.
Frustrating Not intuitive. Seeing the description for a TV show is next to impossible because they display a limited number of characters, and Details defaults to show info. And you have to figure out you're supposed to click the back button every time you open the app just to see the channel listings. Everything is so convoluted it takes 5 clicks to do anything. And why aren't there remote control options for when we can't find the remote and want to activate Guide or DVR or Apps on the actual TV screen?
Bad Chromecast integration Chromecasting from this app shows a small viewing area (25% of screen) on both of my TVs. It also didn't update the name of available casting locations when I changed the Chromecast's name using the same phone. Netflix and every other casting app does not have this problem. The DVR management is pretty nice.
Frustrating lack of functionality When I'm in the house, this app serves its purpose. The most frustrating part is that I can't manage my DVR or any other aspect of my service if I'm not at home. Poor design Google...
Can't use it outside of the house so there's no need for the app
