Useless app. It's looks and works well, but... Did you aware, that you have Hangouts with 1kkk installs and 3kk reviews? New functionality not working on old phones? There is a solution. Simple integrate all existing hangouts to your Allo chats. This way, those who use new app, gain new abilities. Those, who use old phones, still able to communicate with old contacts with same instrument. Also, web-client of Hangouts easily support all new Allo features. Just merge this 2 products, never split your community.
Great app! Full of cool features and stickers. What holds it back is that it has poor sms implementation because it's 💯% in on RCS messaging. This means that most of it's feature set is not useful for most of your contacts unless they download the app. Only your techie or trendy friends will even want to try it and if they have iPhones there's not a great consumer facing reason for them to ditch iMessage for it. I love the app! Unfortunately, I literally have only 5 people on it for the above-mentioned reasons. Once RCS makes more traction, this may he the go-to app.
This app shows Google's failures in the messaging market. They have multiple apps to do what one should do. They need to consolidate there messaging apps into one: Hangouts, voice, duo, Allo, messages, Gmail. Make it all one app like iMessage, also make it work with iMessage if possible then you ha e a winner. Untill they do this no point in having this app.
Note 5. Black screen with the camera corrected, thanks. Not a bad app. I do like it a bit better than Hangouts for messaging. I can add text with my pics again. Clean interface. Yay! As stated by others, it does need integrated SMS support tho'.
Everything about this is 10x better than fb messenger. The sticker sets are out of control awesome. My biggest complaint is I don't understand why this is a different product from Gchat and hangouts. Google has too many chat apps and its super annoying. They only need one, Allo.
It's very good! They don't need to add much to make it one of the best. Web support is nice, but really not cool that you need your phone to be connected. SMS support would be nice obviously. There's tons of cool features and it is very smooth.
