The chat aspect works great, but without pure SMS integration no one is going to care. You're way too late to the game to start making up your own rules. This will fall into the rubble along with Google+ if you don't add SMS directly. Update: Almost a year later and still no SMS/MMS support.
Wow Google, wow. Seriously this is amazing. If more people used it, it would honestly take over. You NEED to find away to make this app default to Android natively. Maybe enable SMS/MMS on it!! Overall, I'm blown away. Anytime someone will say, WhatsApp me or FB message me, I'm just gonna tell them to download Allo.
DITCH the heart junk! Spams notification even if allo open. Good if you can get others to use it. New merge of emoji and sticker selections causes ux issues. Stickers are petty ugly, needs bitmoji integration instead.
I'm not sure why Google things I need half a dozen apps different messaging apps. Between Allo, Duo, Hangouts, Hangout Meet, Android Messages, and whatever else I'm forgetting; I feel frustrated that I can't find one solid app that people would actually want to use on a wide scale. Please combine these individual services into one amazing app.
Love the new updates, the animated gif the overall style of the app. I'm trying more and more to cherry through alo instead of WhatsApp. Only very sad thing is you cannot share multiple photos
This is easily the best messaging app out there. I wish it didn't rely on everyone having to have the app. I wish it was a part of the Android messaging system. If only Verizon and AT&T would get on board to use this type of Dynamic Android messaging. But they of course have to try and do their own convoluted self focused messy ideas 1st 😐
