No SMS support renders it pretty much useless to most people. Which is sad because the application itself is really quick, I like the over all look and feel, and I'd love to test it out properly. Google assistant is very interesting. Very promising application it's just not there and is taking up space on my phone. You know what this app needs more themes and stickers!!! (Sarcasm)
Now I have the Pixel XL I don't even use this for the assistant now and with only 3 people in my contacts list (off nearly 100) its just not worth using! SMS integration is needed for this to succeed otherwise its just gonna fizzle out...
No SMS means no deal. You simply won't be able to beat whatsapp at their own game. Throwing feature after feature at the problem won't change that. Look at hangouts for evidence. You are Google. You really should be able to make a simple, clean, fast sms/i.m. app and just make that the default on android phones. One app instead of three. If it were the default sms app on phones, people would then use it for sms and their instant messaging.
Needs SMS integration. I am not going to add another messaging to my phone just to have a few extra features. If you can add SMS to this app it will become a feasible option for the masses to switch. Seriously that is the only thing holding back Google allo.
Google Allo you have a great app here but the SMS is terrible you need to add default app to chat SMS with your own phone number because the numbers Allo gives you via SMS is just to confusing... You keep updating it but no SMS if I were you I would focus on adding SMS so I can text on my number instead of a number you give me for SMS
Another Google failure in the communication space. Whoever they have over there calling the shots need to get head out of their nether regions and give people an actual tool to communicate with anyone.
