Does what it's advertised to do, can't ask for much more than that. Would be 5 stars if I could set it to my exact billing cycle month. The monthly usage shows from the 1st yet my billing cycle starts on the 2nd, so it's not that big of a deal. I just see how much I used on the 1st day of each month the subtract it from the total.
Works well for restricting background usage, but it should restrict usage completely, similar to NetGuard. Sometimes an app is accidentally opened, and it can eat up data. Which is a big deal if you only have a tiny amount. It's really annoying that you even need a data saver app in the first place. It should be built in the OS. It's also annoying because in order to reboot, you have to turn off data (if you're not on wifi) so that you don't use up data before the Datally VPN service starts.
Very useful tool. I wish that it will be possible soon to define a quota per allowed application (for example App1 max 1 Mo, App2 max 5Mo, etc.). But before that I just need to stop repetitive invation msg. I still have the same msg to recommend this tool friends although it's already done.
As a member of a MNVO that uses wifi calling and charges data by the gigabit, managing my cellular data use is just smart, and Datally performs that chore efficiently and simply. The app that the MNVO used to have was effective at controlling data use by application, but they took away that functionality a while back. Datally restores that control by application to me and it has worked as well or better than what I had before.
Datally kept shutting off my VPN on open insecure WiFi. Why? Security is important to me. Now I see it established a VPN connection for my mobile data. Still not sure what the app is doing.
The app works great when it WORKS. But sometimes it asks me to turn on the data saver bubble but the permission is already enabled. It won't block any app data saying that the app is not set up because the app doesn't have permission to draw over other apps (even though it's enabled). To be clear: I have all permissions enabled but the app keeps saying I don't.
