Used to be good, last two updates removed userbility Used to provide me with headlines, for me to read at my leisure. Used to be easy to scroll down and select links to open in my browser when I'd picked articles I wished to read in full. Helpfully it gives you more than one link for each headline. First it added extra steps you had to go through to open more than one article at a time. Now it doesn't open most links externally at all. The top stories now scroll the wrong way and take up too much room so you can't see the important headlines in a glance.
Change to 'Headlines' are awful. So I kinda really find it annoying to have to change the way I scroll when I use this app. Headlines section scrolls right to left and the other sections scroll up and down. Why isn't there an option to let me change this behavior so that all the sections are inline and simply let me scroll from top to bottom? This was the way it worked for me before this recent update.
Latest update reduces usability Now uses accelerated mobile pages which means you can only open/view articles in app and only one at at time unless you click options for every article and select open in chrome/browser. No setting to change this to automatically open articles in a browser. Waste of time. Too many unnecessary steps. Difficult to use.
Stop forcing ads by using built in chrome. Give the option to disable the light chrome (that doesn't use incognito). If you are going to force us to use chrome without ad blocking then don't send us news from sites that load 100 ads for evey article. Suggestions for you section also doesn't show up 90% of the time now.
Spyware and disables privacy Since Google Now controls the browser within the news, they can continuously spy on you and what you read watch or do whether you like it or not. This program is taken away the ability to open external browser to look at news articles which means that they are capturing all your data and what you're reading whether you like it or not. Sort of what the NSA does when it spies on the American citizen, but Google does it and claims it does no evil.
Good to see it back again, loving it Not sure why Google removed this app from android after upgrading to 4.1.2. Happy, it is back again. But, not as comfortable as using the older version. I would have given older one 5star but not this. But,this version is picking my location and submitting local news to me. That's a great feature.
