I was all excited about the redesign because they said they were combining Android pay and Google Wallet. Not exactly what I had hoped for and wish they would go back to when Google Wallet first started. 1 app that has both features in it. Now this makes it really confusing and cumbersome to use. Just combine this app with Google pay please...
I use google for everything and I am a loyal customer. All of a sudden my account is flagged in order to receive $15 and they need to see an ID. No problem, but then they ask for my Social security number. I think I'll stick to paypal or cash app. This app does discriminate, why ask for social security numbers for some people and not others. Also, if you were really worried about my security, you would require all that to take money out of my account, but no, you take money out of my account with ease, but to get money, it's a problem. Horrible
I use to love this app when it was Google wallet and supported the debit card. Now I have money stuck in in my email that I can't send to my sister because it's too much to go through when she doesn't have the app. Plus fees just to accept the money. Just go back to the simple Google wallet and the debit cards
Look, the idea is to make one payment app, simple. But Google has to make everything so complicated. We don't need multiple apps for everything, just combine this app with the original Google pay app and make it into one so that people don't get confused! Same with the messeges app, just make ONE app that is supreme and has all the features. Stop making a thousand apps for the same service that aren't that good and just make one good app for everything!
Hire new brand & product people. Most frustrating experience to have re-branding over and over again. First it was Wallet. Then it was split with Android Pay for pay only. Ended up going with the non-creative name: Pay. Now name is stupidly Google Pay Send with worst name and icon. The app is still disjointed and not combined into one. Please continue doing the same with messaging. I suggest 3 other apps.
I use my Google Wallet account and card all the time, so when Android Pay hijacked this app to install itself, I had to reinstall Wallet to control my account anyway. Plus, Android Pay sounds dumb. Google Wallet is a noun, a thing, something you feel you can own. Pay is a verb that nobody enjoys. It should be just one of the things you do with your wallet. Bring back Wallet, Google.
Introducing Google Pay Send, the fast, simple way to pay friends. Even the ones without Google Pay.
