While some of the actions won’t work right away, we are working to support more coming soon. You will be able to switch back to Google Assistant in app settings.

Gemini opt in is rolling out to select devices and countries - opt in to Gemini from your Google Assistant or by downloading the Gemini app.

When it WORKS, it's helpful and great. I had deleted the Gemini app, and it wouldn't respond to "Hey Google" anymore. When I downloaded it again, it worked like a charm. But now, suddenly and without me knowing wth happened, it won't respond again. Every few months, something happens when it becomes unresponsive. It's very aggravating. FIX THIS.

Holding the home button to bring up the assistant doesn't work efficiently anymore. I don't want to have voice recognition, and the new menu that comes up with the home button being held is terrible now. It just captures your screen and everything you are doing, not even bringing up the assistant to effectively help. Terrible update and a huge invasion of privacy.

No matter how clear or slow I try to speak, I have never had so much trouble getting something to understand any single command despite training it to my voice more once. I don't bother voice texting and driving because the recipients only get gibberish. Honestly, I rarely use any voice command because 90% of the time I get 'Sorry, I didn't get that'. Android Auto and Google voice have been the only two reasons I have ever considered going back to Apple after using Android/Samsung for 10+ years.
