Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging, and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so you can use the app in the office, at home, or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for Android can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number based calls use the standard minutes from your cell phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when traveling internationally).

Ratings and reviews

Been using it almost since it came out. Finally google got something right. Never had a problem with call quality, or dropped calls. I so wish they would allow voice to have it's own contacts. I use it as a work cell phone of sorts, since I am not supplied one I give my Google Voice number out to work for contact I don't like having to add them to my main contacts as well. Would be interesting if they put a video feature in.

While I appreciate the free service, it's hard to believe there is no scheduling, send delay or search. Cannot attach small video/voice clips. Voice-to-text is horrible. Tries to predict, rather than dictate. Now, I'm having on/off issues with Bluetooth. I can hear the caller, but they can't hear me… Only happens on Google Voice. Because of this I've been using another app. It also needs minimal permissions.

New update made it impossible to use!! Now no one can hear me whether I disconnect from wifi or use a different connection. Or if it's on speaker or headphone or not. Nothing helps. I keep having to call people back from my personal number and it works just fine when I do that. So it's not the area or the wifi but the app that's the issue. It worked just fine before you updated it. PLEASE FIX THIS
