Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so that you can use the app in the office, at home or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for Android can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number-based calls use the standard minutes from your mobile phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when travelling internationally).

Ratings and reviews

The app works just fine. I use it as my professional number to give to clients. I can't imagine it being better. (edit):Over two years in and I still use the app. It has caller screening, do not disturb that operates independently of your actual number, call recording, and a nice widget for one of your homescreens. The one thing I need, not just want-to-see: the ability to change my Voice number more than once without paying for it.

Google voice has been my go to app for VoIP since day 1. I use it on my laptop with Chrome and have used it on many Android devices with no issues. I like that you get a different number besides your cell number too. I can send unlimited messages, make unlimited calls and receive pics, gifs, and files. When my mobile device doesn't have service somewhere, Google Voice backs me up. Thanks! I highly recommend this app versus text now or telegram. There's no ads, it's free and no scammers!!

If I could rate zero stars I would. I tried making an account on this app and did EXACTLY what yall said to do. My ID got instantly denied even though I was of age and my birthday was correct. On the app it says that they would give you a limited number of re-tries, and it hasn't let me retry it at all. I can't even unlink my main phone number to try and make a new account. I've even tried contacting the devs, no response. I just want another retry or my main phone number back. Very annoying.
