Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging, and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so you can use the app in the office, at home, or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for Android can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number based calls use the standard minutes from your cell phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when traveling internationally).

Ratings and reviews

When working it's great, it struggles to work with Android Auto even when connected with a cable, you can answer calls but can't hear the caller. Works with Chevrolet Link Bluetooth sometimes. I have to pair up daily for it to work properly otherwise it will stop working when I receive a call. Sometimes doesn't give notifications for texts or voicemails. I wish Google would invest a little bit more time and fix all the issues. It's a great idea for a product.

I've purchased only Google Pixel phones in hopes to get this to work better and unfortunately this was not the case. I no longer get calls at all, only missed alerts when I open the app. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. It's a shame because I've had the same Google phone number for decades now. I really wish the product would just work! I'd even would pay for a working version and support!

I hate being trapped with this stupid app. I've been using my Google Voice number for years and text with it. At some point, they removed the ability to text with other platforms (even Google ones). It is a horribly outdated service. I just tried to attach a 3.75 MB gif to a message and was told it was too big. Multiple photos to upload? Nope. Receive a video? Compressed to oblivion. The only reasonable explanation for an app to be this bad and to lock people into it is to punish those people.
