I like the ability to scroll the widget for the latest world, national, and local news. I like the ability to access one news item from multiple sources within the application. SUGGESTION: The ability to remove pictures on widgets would allow for more of the headlines to be visible on the widget. Therefore, those with poor vision can view more of the headline with font size and zoom features maximized.

Sorting preferences - This app needs the ability to sort by release date. I searched one topic and I want to see the lastest. Its November and I'm seeing articles from May at the start. I had to scroll through May, July, August in random placing. I'd like newest first not 5 or 10 places down. With how tech savy Google is they at least be able to do that.

Hi there. Thank you for using Google News! If the app doesn't refresh, please check that you’re connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. If the app closes or specific content is blank, follow these steps to clear your app’s cache and data: https://goo.gle/2KL7ZOO. Hope this helps.

Terrible usability. Pathetic design. Opens pages in itself rather than the browser of your choice even if you enable such option. Instead of rendering pages in a uniform way (text size, colors, content extraction, etc.) in a similar manner to Microsoft News, it shows the pages with all the unnecessary stuff, including ads and auto-starting videos that ruin the experience and cookie alerts that waste your time (one more time, because you have to go through them both in this app and your browser if you tend to visit the same pages). The bottom tab bar wastes the precious screen real estate, and if you choose to browse by topic, then your also get the static top bar to make it even worse. Last but not least, forget about mixing regions and languages, e.g to get news in English for a county that does not speak English. The same goes getting news from multiple countries or regions at the same time.
