Ratings and reviews

So far, so good. There are some items I find of no interest to me for various reasons and have the option of letting Google know if I so choose. Why 4 stars, not 5? App crashes once in a while and refuses to reopen immediately afterwards. Sometimes takes a few hours before coming back, sometimes takes a few days before reopening. Very annoying, especially if I'm in the middle of a good read. I'll wait to see what happens, then re-edit in a year--either good or bad.

I would rather the app open news articles in external browser. But if it's going to open them inside the app, the least you could do is have some ad filtering for intrusive ads! Most news pages are littered with obnoxious ads, videos and pop-ups that often cover up content. It's too much! Further, prevent pages from auto-playing videos like is possible with a regular browser. Stop being so greedy with the ads!! Also, provide a way to filter out news sources that require a subscription!

This used to be my favorite app to get and read news. The ability to read news from multiple sources and make your own decisions. Also to see the conflicts between news sources. News media does show major conflicts in what they call facts. Though recently there must have been an update. Now the app keeps reloading and putting me at the top of the page. Once I click on a story and go back; it reloads. Losing my place on the page and have to scroll down again. It's very annoying.
