This is a real step backwards. The old version allowed me to dismiss an article by swiping it; now I need to go through multiple steps to remove it. The background is garishly bright, with no apparent way to change it to something more relaxing for reading in dim light. The topic list is much less useful than before: for example, it include "Sports" at the top level but not the many other more interesting topics (to me at least) that were at the top level in the earlier version. With this version, it seems I need to work my way through multiple options or just choose not to see any more stories from a given source. I used to rely on this app for my morning review, but no longer.

Google should admit failure on this app after so many people show disinterest. The old news app is very organized and help me to browse through headlines with just one glance. I have to spend so much time just to scroll through the scattered news tiles. This is one good example of setting priority on appearance over practicality in designing app. And please do not follow Microsoft's lead to force us into "upgrading" to an inferior product.

I can't use this app. The page reloads when going from portrait to landscape. I prefer to read articles in oortrait but watch videos in landscape. This app does not allow me to do that seamlessly or even easily. I've given up and uninstalled it. Maybe I'll come back and try the app again in a few months to see if thst issue has been rectified.
