It's OK Highlights cannot be removed, so the main page always displays news force-feed by Google. Also, incomplete articles still require users to open their Internet browser. If that is the case, then why use Newsstand at all? The idea of having content from multiple sources is great and all, but please make it a complete and stand-alone package, much like the Wikipedia app.
Please update the system notification bar I use this app regularly, but what I dislike about it is that the system notification bar is still black. This makes the app look old and outdated, and for such an otherwise amazing looking app, it just drags the whole experience down. Please update the app so it changes the system notification bar to be transparent, similar to how it looks when you first open the Google Play Store.
Google Play News stand Not for the intelligent well informed free thinking person. Bias toward Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, obvious filtering out of pro Trump news. Uninstalled forgood Googlecrats.
Excited to rate higher! Haven't used it at all yet but very very excited just by looking at the pics and reading description and especially the reviews I think this is the first app ever they I have gone on and did not see not one negative comment at all everyone on here says how awesome and great it is. Can't wait to get set up and try it out so I can rate a 5 5 5 5 5!!!
Widget provides old news This used to be my go-to news app after after Google replaced Currents. Now the widget updates are abysmal, and sources seemed to have narrowed of their own volition. I agree with others who have mentioned that are too many pay-wall news sources. I'll be looking for a replacement such as Feedly.
Buggy Newsstand works ok most of the time. However it encountered an error on my tablet and will not work. I cannot even read magazines offline that I specially downloaded to read offline. Seems it is due to using the wifi connection on the train, because I had the same issue on my phone. However newsstand then worked when I switched wifi off. Rubbish. The new version is still rubbish - continually crashes and forgets it has downloaded my magazines so I cannot read them offline (the whole idea of downloading them) when it detects a wifi signal it thinks it can connect to. Deserving of no stars, but I have to give it at least one.
