Undoubtedly the best navigation app for Android. I've been using Google maps since 2012 & since then it has always helped me to travel to numerous unknown destinations with 100% accuracy evey time. The application has developed alot since then & new features are being added all the time. I am never lost as long as i have internet connectivity & some juice left in my battery, i can just take my backpack & head out for the horizon. Keep up the incredible work Google. You guys rock! 🤘 A must have for any serious wanderlust.
I use this for Lyft. Some things I've noticed is that the map doesn't zoom in close enough. I will miss turns because of the impression that the turn it sooner than it is. We need more ability to customize. I can't have the map stop navigating when I have arrived when it actually has me in the wrong area and I can't tell exactly where I'm at. Sometimes the maps will actually give me wrong directions or say the exit is something completely different. Also, I don't care if the place I'm is closed. Not your concern. I would pay good money to have this app be as accurate as my Garmin.
New review: everything in old review still applies... They havent made it better, just different. And now, oh joy, road names just won't appear for me. Reinstalled and everything, they came back for a day, but they are gone again. No matter what I do, how I zoom or rotate, can't see street names. Not a useful map. Old review: Honestly, just use Waze. It does pretty much everything Google does, but better. Weird, since Google owns it. I'll gladly switch back when Google listens to the requests people have been making for *years* to reinstate features that we already had once before. As is, Google Maps brings nothing game changing to the concept of navigation.
App works fie, however the new features are flawed... the bar put at the bottom to select mode of transit should be in the 3dot menu. Also I like the implimentation of multiple save icons, however the star needs to be a quick press default, select the others by long press. I use the app to map out my work and make myself a route, others like me would also appreciate that ease of use.
App continues to add more to it, taking up space for the actual map. Since the last updates, it takes more functions to do what used to take 1 step (to star a point on a map). If you continue to add, and take up space there won't be a map left, unless you are at home with a 50 in screen. It was fine before last couple of updates. You ruined it now.
Google just upgraded Maps and removed the feature I use most. They removed the ability to touch the map and identify a location and navigate to it. It's gone. Can't be done anymore. It also blew away all of the points I created this way. Thanks google. Now I'm lost. Why did you do this? Please bring this ability back!
