Combination amazing and super-lame. The amazing part has become routine, and you already know about it. The lame parts are lead by the auto-zoo- out-when-you-search monkey business. You're zoomed in to some location, search (in that location) for some place, and Google Maps zooms out to show you results along the entire west coast. Then you must zoom back in and click Search This Area. Why the hell don't you just search that area in the first place? Undoubtedly it's for $$$$$$$$$

Maps were working great for my historical timelines. I could look back to 2012 and other years to see places visited. Is there a way to restore my timeline? I never deleted or turned on the delete feature. Maybe it's temporary. Since I sent feedback within the app. it appears the loss of saved historical timeline occurred after that option was executed.

Google has lost their way. Timeline is losing access in a web browser. The Timeline user interface on cell phones is HORRIBLE in addition to being limited to a small screen. And Google was way too eager to go along with government NewSpeak aka renaming the Gulf of Mexico. I use Google maps daily and will continue to do so only because while actively looking for a replacement for 2 months I haven't been able to find anything comparable yet.
