Love pretty much everything about this app, but recently I have not been receiving texts or person I'm sending to, doesn't receive mine. I've missed so many text and constantly need to reset my phone to get the messages to go through or receive them (even resetting doesn't always help though) this really needs to be fixed as soon as possible. From what I read in other recent comments, I'm not the only one having this problem.
... but I had to ding it one star because it doesn't have scheduled sending. An ancient LG phone from 2012 with its own messaging app could do that, why can't Google Messenger? Aside from that, I really like it... Simple, uncluttered, does the job. Another thing, and another star, messages must be deleted individually, each with a confirm. Why is there no way to select multiple messages within a conversation for a multi-delete in a single action (not talking about deleting the whole conversation). Again, this is something that existed in my old 2012 phone, and is simple enough.
You people at Google can update this app to look all cool with new features but you can't add a batch delete mode to delete certain multiple messages within a conversation without having to long press each one to delete. Other messenger apps developed by others have it. Why can't you guys do the same? Maybe not smart enough to get the job done?
ATTENTION Devs: The best feature to add that no other native sms message app has built-in would be SMS backup built-in to Google drive. I want to input my Google log in to the new phone and it'd download all and messages from the cloud to the new device. Just like how Google photos work. Please make it happen! I bet I'm not the only one who's like this to happen.
I was enjoying this app until I did an Android update that now forces me to see that Messages is running the entire time. Is there a way to get rid of that notification? Also, should a 26 second video still not send after an hour, especially on strong WiFi?
Good looking app however core functionality should come before looks. I regularly don't get notifications for texts and sometimes texts aren't received because of this app (tested against lgs default text app). Also seems a little silly but if you reply to a message via the option in the text notification why on earth does it not also mark the text as read?!?
