It needs to be combined with Allo. Allo is a great app but will never be able to introduce it and get adoption until SMS is tied in. I don't care about future plans (especially because we know you lie about them is the Pixel C). But the time it's viable, something better will be there. Something that evolved with actual usage. Not something that was touted as this great app now when it's really 5 years early. RCS might be the future, but SMS rules in the US
Well writing a review here now that SMS is being removed from Hangouts (which is something I'm not happy about). This is ok for SMS but I like Hangouts better which I still use more for messaging due to cross platform ability. RCS sounds good but dunno when my carrier will support it.... can't this app just check and see if they're person also uses Android messages and if so just advanced features over WiFi?
Definitely a good texting app if you don't feel like using your stock app. It's alright, but for someone like me who has never deleted a single message, it's poses a problem. I really want to use this, but the loading time is too slow. But then again, it's just me. I don't know anyone else with 100k+ messages in one conversation.
Whenever we go to new message option and type any name from contacts, the app automatically ignores the country code i.e. +91 ISD code for India and add '0' prefix to each number. Instead the app could use the default no saved in contacts list. Also the app UI is not so impressive so that anyone can leave aside the native messaging app and start using 'Messenger'. Request Google to integrate this app with 'Hangouts' app so that users don't get confuse to use various apps with same functionality.
Very useful messaging app but missed some of very necessary and important features such as: 1. Making backup of text messages on Google account. 2. Label and folders in archive menu to personalize and keep some of messages. 3. Change "Sending Sound" to "Sent Sound" to make sure users about their messages. Or add 'Delivery Message' sound. And suggestions for improvement in graphic design: 1. Icon needs to be more Googleize 😀, its not a beautiful icon right now. Its simplest one. 2. Swipe to Delete messages Thanks
I had to delete this messaging app. I really liked it, but there is a bug. I received a message and it won't delete the notification icon until I delete the text message itself. This has also been an issue for several other users. I ended up switching messaging apps because of this problem. There was an update sent out last weekend (March 4-5, 2017). The big is fixed. I set up the app, again, and it's working great. Love this compared to other messaging apps. Easy to use, simple, and allows for streamlined text messaging.
