Review from Joseph Vahabzadeh
... but I had to ding it one star because it doesn't have scheduled sending. An ancient LG phone from 2012 with its own messaging app could do that, why can't Google Messenger? Aside from that, I really like it... Simple, uncluttered, does the job. Another thing, and another star, messages must be deleted individually, each with a confirm. Why is there no way to select multiple messages within a conversation for a multi-delete in a single action (not talking about deleting the whole conversation). Again, this is something that existed in my old 2012 phone, and is simple enough.
It's works really well... UPDATE 11/22/17: I have a "Direct Text" widget for a specific contact on my home screen. When I select it, the message thread pops up, then it totally reloads that contacts thread (it disappears, then reloads, and pops back up again). Almost defeats the purpose of having the widget in the first place when now it seems faster just to open the Android Messages app. Been using these widgets for YEARS w/o a problem until now.
The newest version is very un-minimalist as you try to go attach a photo which is most commonly used function... Used to be very clutter free but now the emojis and stickers are stuck at top and the emojies and stickers are so redundant especially if you use Google keyboard
Randomly some texts are not being sent to my contacts. Also I'm not receiving all text from my contacts. The lost messages are random. So go though. Some don't. Please fix this.
Need the feature of selecting multiple SMS's in a conversation thread. These selected messages can then be deleted, archived or starred in one go.
Some of my messages seem to disappear or not come in at all.
Many times unfortunately stopped in Moto E4 + please fixed bug very slow app
