The official Google Photos app is made for the way you take photos today and includes essential features like shared albums, automatic creations and an advanced editing suite. Additionally every Google Account comes with 15 GB of storage and you can choose to automatically back up all your photos and videos in High quality or Original quality. You can then access them from any connected device and on photos.google.com.

Ratings and reviews

Within the last 48 hours, I've probably uninstalled and reinstalled this apt close to 10 times. When the app finally backs-up photos, it's missing some (photos that are in my albums on my phone aren't showing up in app). Also when I click on a photo in the app, it opens a different picture. I'm thinking to uninstall app entirely. You'd think Google, of all software out there, could get this right!

Every update to this app seems to make it worse and worse. Force closes when editing photos, freezes when trying to pick, share, or really do anything more than look at a single photo for half a second. The UI takes forever to save screenshots and the camera itself force closes in the middle of trying to take pictures, sometimes not even processing them. Way too buggy overall.

I really dislike the most recent update. sorting things into "collections" I feel like I can't find my photos. literally, I'll take a screenshot, then look at the "screenshot" collection and it's not there. I can't find photos I had no problem finding before. it needs to be changed back. ------------:----I got a response to this saying collections help find things easier. they do not. The photos I used to find quickly, I have to dig just to find.

What's new

We are introducing a new storage management tool to help you easily manage the photos that count toward your storage quota. This tool will surface photos or videos you might want to delete — like blurry photos, screenshots and large videos.
