This used to be my go-to podcast app but over the last few months I've had to switch because of a persistent bug that will replay the same episode over again, even though I have others listed in my queue. I saw this listed as a bug last year and that a fix was sent out, but nothing was fixed. I love the simplicity of the app and that new episodes appear a lot sooner than other apps, but this bug makes the app unusable for me.

I basically really like the simplicity of the app, although I very occasionally wish it had more functionality. Recently I cannot download any podcasts in advance, which really sticks because I'm in spotty service often. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall if I don't have to. Does anyone have similar issue, or have a fix?

This app needs a home screen widget but is otherwise a great app for podcasts. Also, there needs to be some sort of fix implemented that does not reset which episodes have been played so they start where you left off even if you've been away from a particular show for a while.

What's new

Google Podcasts now supports adding podcasts by RSS feed! Open the app and navigate to Activity, and then to the Subscriptions tab. Select the three dots in the top right corner and then "Add by RSS Feed." Once added, the podcast will appear along with your other subscribed shows, including at the top of the Home tab.
