This is a great, simple podcast player. I really like it overall. I wish, however, that the ability to swipe left/right on the current episode to be able to go to the previous/next were still there. Removing that feature is pretty crippling because it forces me to back out to the main list, and if the show has a lot of episodes, it's pretty inconvenient ---------2023 edit: This bug never got fixed, and now the app is being killed. So that's great

I've been using Google podcasts for years as my go to podcast app. It's not perfect but it is pretty simple and has a clean easy interface and allow me to auto download my podcast episodes. I'm really pissed that Google has decided to can it in favor of merging it into YouTube music. That interface is very user unfriendly and I want my podcast in a separate app from my music stuff. I guess I will have to turn to another 3rd party app for podcasts.

I use this app everyday. I only gave it 4 stars because I don't know if it's a me thing for anybody else has the issue but it seems to jump around a lot during podcast I could be here and then talk and then jump to the middle of an ad or vice versa or it'll completely cut sections out causing you to miss parts but most of the time it just jumps back about 2 minutes and then cuts two minutes off of the end I assume.

What's new

Google Podcasts now supports adding podcasts by RSS feed! Open the app and navigate to Activity, and then to the Subscriptions tab. Select the three dots in the top right corner and then "Add by RSS Feed." Once added, the podcast will appear along with your other subscribed shows, including at the top of the Home tab.
