The app came from thin air. I was reading reviews for Voice over IP and free text and voice apps over WiFi when next to Google voice read Duo. Strange interface today I was quickly using, understood commands which are self explanatory, and the broad range of users that have Google accounts in my contacts list has made this #1 over Skype and any previous app I tinkered with. I want to join a Google think tank, thumbs up for great combo of fun and functionality, Jam On It!

Our family has a mix of android and iPhones so faceting is not possible for us all. We want to see our grand kids and this does the job perfectly! We tried several others including Skype and non of them have the quality and ease of use that Duo provides. Thanks for a great product that does exactly what it says it will. You make some Nanna's, Papaw's and grandkids very happy!!

Broken since last 2 updates. When trying to make a call duo accesses the Bluetooth settings and tries to adjust the volume to off constantly. During this time I cannot press anything inside the app and I cannot dismiss the notification area. Audio is broken, video seems to work, but the app never connects to the call. Please fix for a better rating Edit: When bluetooth is enabled duo tries accessing the bluetooth which in turn causes the problems listed above. No issues when bluetooth is disabled.

Love this app it works well & is so simple even people who aren't used to smartphones can use it. My only problem with this app is it literally kills my battery. A short video chat will drop my battery 20% easily that needs to be fixed in an update. I'm using Nexus 6P.

For too long I could not FaceTime because I own a droid. This is wonderful, especially for connecting with babies of the 21st century whose parents own iPhones! My great grands will know me now even though we live cross country or 1000 miles apart. Love this technology!

Not for everyone. If you want a lot of features...not for you, but for simple guy like me it fit's like a glove. Practical and it just works, use it almost every day no problems. In my family not everyone has android but we can still use it.😁👍

The audio is not working properly means side A and B both will not sync properly due to which sometimes the video is pausing. Video quality is very good. Need to work on video audio sync. Need to work on background like we can go and scroll other apps too while calling like IMO works.

I think this app is ok. I dislike how it isn't integrated with any other Google services and that the app itself lacks features. It needs to stand out to people who have never heard of this app before. I do appreciate how there are practically no glitches or lag in video calls, but new features are definitely overdue.

My girlfriend is the only one who calls me, but video chat seems to be really important to her. App works really well. I love that people with Apple products can install the app as well. Now people will stop bugging me to get an iPhone so I can video chat them. And by people I mean my girlfriend.

I use other apps for video calling but the quality was worse. Now starts using duo, really i m impressed with quality of video call. Very clear, clean interface love u Google. As i love all apps of Google and have faith. But this time Google again proved he is the best and make the quality products. Love you Google !!!

This is an awesome app to make voice/video calls across platforms (iOS & Android). It would be 5 stars if it was integrated into phone app to make Duo calls straight out from the phone. And perhaps integrate it with contact app so Duo calls can also be made from within a contact ...

Is one of the best app I have seen so far for video calls. Quality of video is always superb and great. I deeply thank Google to make this app in reality. Staying far from family is very difficult, but this app connects you with ur family like you are with them all the time. Thank you Google Duo.

Works great but very difficult to set up contacts. Because of how difficult, especially with people who don't have much time/patience I tend to end up using something else. Update. I uninstalled then reinstalled. All problems solved

Seems Google finally solved video calling. Quality of image and speech (free handed) is absolutely excellent. Love the 'knock knock' feature. Some more options would be nice to have - like using phone call speaker and switching off video when you hold it to your ear; or calling from your desktop / laptop browser.

Voice echo and mic feedback issues plague this app. I'd like to use it but these issues make it a bad experience. WhatsApp video calling is much better. I don't have the voice echo or mic feedback issues in WhatsApp... Please fix

It's a very simple video chat. I love how it's so basic, and there no annoying filters or clutters. I just want a reliable video chat, and this is a very good one. The quality stays consistent, despite that my connection is a little slow. Keep it this way, and I'll be happy. Don't ever add filters. Thank you.

Occasionally, the video will drop out, generally due to connectivity issues. A battery light on charge can also cause the video to freeze and disappear, but rarely the vocal portion. After all's said and done, it's the only video calling app I ever use. The video quality is excellent and performs well in dim lighting. The audio is crystal clear. In my book, this more than makes up for those prior issues.

Boring app, slower than imo video calling app. Baar baar video atakti hai or sound bhi jyada repeat hoti hai. Is app ko imo se behtar banao.i hated it, don't waste time & data. So updated it better than other video calling apps. I was uninstall this app(Google duo)

It's a quite good app , no doubt..but it needs to fix bugs.. in video call sometime voice of opposite person get sluggish and the volume get down..so I think it should be fix as soon as Possible... Otherwise it's a good app...I recommend to download this..

Better, way better than Skype that often drops calls for me, as well as often experience inaudible lagging issues. Hangouts somehow has horrible volume levels for Nexus 6P, and often drops calls. This app on the other hand is a lot more stable with less call inconveniences. It does the job it's supposed to.

Yes, this is the app you want for calling over your data plan. Crisp audio, and it's easy to get others set up. Plus, it's much better video chat versus Facebook messenger. Google definitely knows communication well, probably because they are spying on all your conversations and habits. But hey! Free stuff.

Video quality is good but it doesn't have refresh button to sync latest contact so it is not showing me many latest contact who installed this app so please give update and fix this problem. And they can add recent call details so that it will be easy to use.

The only other app I've used besides FaceTime. I wish I could use it for video calling, the only problem is u have to go Into the Duo App to make a call to ur friends. Other then that I love it!

Noticed the voice does the chipmunk thing from time to time. Can get a little confusing if you don't pay attention cause its like in fast forward! But picture quality much better than some other apps I've used! I would like a sharing opportunity or multi person calls!

This application is having third class video quallity. I think you should atleast keep 480p video quality. If not then atleast keep video quality like whatapp and facebook messenger video calling. I think its a google application so it will have best quality than others, but not.

Video quality is still not as good compared to apple but much improved. Wish Google would make up their mind and create one app for video, texts, and wifi calling. Please condense (Google voice, messages, Hangouts, Allo).

Still has a few moments where the video will freeze, but to talk with my elderly parents this is the best app out there. Very easy to use and the quality of the connection is the best out there for calling to different types of phones.

MUCH BETTER than Hangouts!! My husband work 4hrs away and we couldn't hear or see him on Hangouts. We used this once and it did good! I was able to see his handsome face and my baby could see his daddy! Good job!

The best video calling app I've used to date. Video is constantly clear and hardly any jitter or lag. I think I'm gonna do this a lot more often now that I have an app that works so well.

Everything is good. Video quality is better than any other app. Works great but you hear your own voice while talking due to echo.. That's the only drawback.

Excellent app but I'm tired of all these different voice and chat apps. Google needs to settle on ONE app and just include ALL the features of Hangouts, Allo, Duo, and Messages.

Over all this is a pretty good video messaging app. The call quality is generally good. UI is pretty straight forward and easy to navigate. If I could change one thing it would be making it part of the OS. Make it built 8n so it would work seemlessly across the Android platform and with all Android users.

Super easy to use. Even technologically challenged grandparents can use it. There is a total lack of features like 3 way calls. That helps with simplicity, but features could be added while maintaining simplicity.

The app still makes a sound when you miss a call even when the phone is in vibrate mode. I would like to see the ability to switch between audio and video calls while in a call.
