Best translator ever, I have two suggestions though. 1) Make translations editable, for some words the translation that I am seeing is something totally different. eg. When I translate word "raisins" in Urdu, It shows "Mumbai". 2) Phrasebook is awesome feature. But I would love it if you provide an small phrasebook by default with couple of hundred essential idioms and phrases. Sort of thing that Microsoft translator provides. So if I have to learn a new language I will know where exactly to start from.

this is perhaps the most efficient and effective way to get translation done. tried Japanese to English. fairly easy but it has some glitches on the side of camera. if it's too dark it won't recognize the letter for translation. this is FREEEEEE! and basically it's a camera app translator that i will come back to download again for another language. for now, my search is over. do your best google!

Nice job Google. Dictionary and translation, in one app, quickly utilized and without exiting the current screen. Camera translation is extremely useful. Add thesaurus integration. Include option to use the "chat head" that pops up on the screen upon text selection as a floating menu... Translation, Dictionary, Thesaurus. Results displayed on screen in an overlay.?

I really like this app because it's very useful for someone who manages to speak more than one language since it helps you remember and learn even more. Nevertheless, I suggest to add the camera option for the Arabic language. I sometimes need to translate long texts and I can't write them so it will be great if I could take a pic as I do with other writings in other languages.

Previously it used translate everything on screen when some apps do not support copy paste options. There are many apps in play store where they will in different language alone. Fix this . previously translate used appear along with assistant and it translates everything on screen. Don't you think before app update? You should include more functionality instead you are killing the existing ones and saying it innovative..

With this app, you can translate from English text to Arabic but unfortunately you can't translate from Arabic text into English!?! It's a bit BIAS!! I have been using this app for over 3 months now and, I have updated it at least once a month but still have not received an update that can help me

I have a major issue with the app now! I tried restarting my phone first, and now the app will only translate the languages I downloaded for offline use...WITH INTERNET ACCESS ONLY! Please fix this NOW! All the languages I downloaded are supposed to be able to work OFFLINE! 😡

Love breaks language barriers, now Google does too I'm English speaking living in the US and met/started dating a Mexican who cannot speak much more than "thank you" or "bye"!! Four years of español was helpful but hardly bridging the Gap. Once I downloaded Translate, the problem was solved. We ended up breaking up; HAhaha! We figured out our irreconcilable differences using Google Translate!

it was good but i have an issue.. every time i try to translate something the apps says "translation failed". network is ok setting is ok.. don't know why this happens every time sometimes it says check sd card but there is no problem with sd card or network connection i worked well before but now it's not working properly pls suggest what should i do i don't want to uninstall it

It's an ok translator, mind you I haven't found a better one. It really struggles with complex sentences from Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian. If Google would like some better translations, please let me know, I'd love to help.

At first glance I was excited about what I read thinking I would be able use it for my upcoming trip to Ecuador. Everything worked as expected until I went offline and then the nightmare started. At the end of the day it appears that voice to voice does not work offline even after making the tweeks(not in instructions)suggested by users after experiencing the same issue. Uninstalled and am using another app.

After the new android update application crushes every time when I try to swap languages, change selected languages or do anything else. I cant believe that google didnt found this bug for more than one month. It is preety annoying. I can provide you more information if needed. Phone: SM-G950S, Android: 7.0

It's completely. Broken and doesn't even have consistent translations if you write up something translate it then copy swap them and past it'll translate completely wrong

It's great to learn how to pronounce English words, but some translations aren't accurate and are misleading. For example: The word 'connive;' this word isn't a verb in Spanish and it doesn't conjugate. There for the translation for that word in Google Translate is incorrect. Something similar happens with word the word 'estuviera.' I know, it doesn't have to be perfect. 😁

The app translated just now "what I like the least" as "what I like the best" (eu mais gosto instead of eu menos gosto - Portuguese). The original sentence was "Apples and bananas are the fruits that I like the least". That is really bad!

Incredible app. I've been using this tool online since the mid-2000's, and it's gotten better and better and better. The app itself seems superior to the online tool now. As a multi-lingual dictionary this is probably the best tool in the business. I'm giving the app four stars because the dictionary tool allows device rotation, but when the device is in landscape the layout becomes effectively useless and unscrollable.

The translation from Turkish to German is absolutely wrong. When I typ 'hayırlı cumalar' which is a term of my religion which is Islam it says 'good sperm'. The actual translation is 'good Friday' (more or less). Or when I typ 'güzel mekkem' it says 'beauriful cock' but the actual translation is 'my beautiful Mecca'. I see this as an insult to my religion. Please fix this!

Amazing app but just one problem. During active image translation it somehow immediately drains all my phone charge in seconds and shuts my phone off. The last one I went from 50% to 1% charge. I have no idea how this is possible but it only happens with this app.

I use this translator to translate into Marathi. But I found its extremely bad translator. Why don't you have Marathi dictionary? This is the WORST translator that I used. Please delete Marathi language if you don't know how to convert English into Marathi. If you don't have enough Marathi words. EXTREMELY HATEFUL. Fu** off this translator. Need many..many...many changes. It makes a person stressful. Don't ever upload any app without perfection.

Downloading offline languages still doesn't download over unlimited 4G LTE mobile data. Google what's the problem you can't get this thing to work right after all these updates? Maybe you should hire some people from Microsoft to help you out with this because there's download no problem over 4G LTE unlimited data connection.

You should also introduce Google Maps like "Your Contribution" in Google Translate to find Grammar, Word & Translation Mistakes, inside App instead of Community sign ups. for me, i don't like to open browser and then suggest the word or make a correction of word, if there is an inside app option to suggest translation and correct wrong translation then it would be Great!!

Please introduce a feature where, if I wish to add a word to the phrasebook I could use a custom translation for it or like a custom description field. Example: type in "Hasty" as an english word and then there's a brief description with a meaning and an example of use. This would also do great if it could be saved onto my gmail account. (In order to synchronise with my devices). In other words Google Translate translates poorly (other than English), provided that those studying another language such as myself could help you gather such intel and enhance the app. Android version needs not to omit the description part and the web version would be awesome if it had a phrasebook. It would be great if one could read books and then quote the context with an explanation next to it. Then this could be harvested, processed and officially submitted by Google.

It's odd how the offline translator is incorrect and the online translator is right. You can't type in the language other than English to English or otherwise it's incorrect. Please please please fix this

The best translation app ever.. the 'Tap to translate' option is awesome and double tapping the subsequent pop-up window takes you directly to the main app.. where you will find not only the translation but also really good definitions and examples of such definitions.. this is great!!

I have downloaded offline translation files, and none of them works, still unavailable if i go offline, defeating the purpose of this function. This app is not suited to be called a "translate" app. Translating from Japanese, often wont offer right kanji from hiragana input, transliteration is wrong, translation is wrong and weird, drawing kanji I have to do it lightning fast or the drawing space automatically moves to the left. That really sucks. Cannot use this for studying because I dont trust this app for it's frequent mistakes and I just end up wasting a ton of time. P.S. It also needed 250Mb space to update.. 0 stars.

i love the app but when you tipe something in it does not come out saying what you meant like this: "are we going to watch a movie tonight?" translateing....... "we'll watch a movie tonight" this is what i got when i was translating english to german and it made me mad because i had to send it to someone asking if it will be movie night! P.S. always check the out put! ALWAYS

Actually the translate balloon after copying the text.. does not come up all the time.. Sometimes it does not come up.. So then I have to go to translate app and then input it. It is not very fast

Can you please fix this app? It used to work perfectly, but now whenever I try to use it , the translation will fail immediately. It also keeps telling me that the offline package isn't installed even though I did download it . Now the app is completely useless .

9 times on to 10 the translation is wrong. Don't trust the Italian language translation as for them it's an unknown language, but even Spanish and awful for Estonian. Always they try to translate literally getting an unacceptable result. They don't know anything about grammar and I'm talking about popular languages (not Estonian of course), as Spanish, Italian, German, French and in some cases even English. It seems that this app is from illiterate people. But if you don't have anything else and you're in trouble with a language, it's better than nothing. No more than 1 star as many times trusting the translation I said nonsense and stupid things. 100 languages? If you're not able to translate the main languages what would happen with less known languages? Who knows...

Obviously, when translating languages, the meanings of english words translated are the same, but in that language's context the word is completely unusual, which is why translators will even sometimes change the word to the proper word translated for better translation. however, this app still is the best translator i have and will ever see before.

My friend can speak Spanish and I have always wanted to. So when I went into Google and I saw this app I told myself go in it you will be able to learn Spanish so I downloaded it I learned some Spanish phrases and then I started sending my friend Spanish sentences and we just kept talking back and forth to each other in Spanish. !Gracias traductor de Google!
