I really like the app, and would be perfectly willing to give it 5 stars... However, I do wish the functionality was there to secure payments with the fingerprint scanner on my Google Pixel XL. If someone was to steal my phone, they could also buy items with my debit card! No security there at all. This is the one failing it has compared to Apple Pay. Google, my advice to you would be to add fingerprint security to the app. Your users will thank you!
I actually like the app, when it's working, although I really wish it would let me manually add 3rd party loyalty cards. My real problem with it is that it keeps randomly disabling itself with no explanation. I have to go into the play store and re-enable it.manually then drag it back into its assigned position. It is extraordinarily annoying. I might have to look into ditching it for Samsung Pay if it keeps up.
As a samsung pay user.. this android pay doesn't seem safe and secure at all. Unlock phone and u can pay immediately? What if a IT savvy guy do a prank and simply put his nfc gadget near my phone while I'm using? It is highly recommended for adding another unlocking step within the app itself. 2nd issue is this.. once I enter my card to android pay, it will be associated with all other google products. Lets face it. There are so many Google product and sometimes you don't even know which you used. How can I add my card where I may accidentally purchase something in a google app which I am unfamiliar with?
It allows me to use PayPal, which offers payment protection and insurance. Since I don't use the financial institution straight, makes me feel more coincident. So it's add a layer of protection on every purchase, since uses Android and NTFS it is accepted almost everywhere.
No use when it tells me the card I sent for daily transactions is not supported. It's a Visa Electron. Just when I thought I had an answer to forgetting my real wallets home this failed me. Real shame.
Bad in execution. I love contactless payments, but Android Pay has been so flakey, it's become unusable. Just 5 days ago I used it, changed nothing on my system, and now it tells me that it can't determine if my OS is unrooted. Their own system checker tells me I'm fine! I need something stable, so I guess Samsung Pay, here I come.
• You can now pay with a card other than your default. Just open the app and tap on the card right before you pay.
• Bug fixes and improvements.
