If you have a rooted device, don't bother with this, some moron decided to block all high level Android users! If you want to put a warning in, and/or a disclaimer fine, but to totally block rooted devices is like my bank deciding I can't use their banking website because I have photoshop installed on my computer instead of of M$ paint!!!
Still doesnt work with Simple card after the cancellation of the Google Wallet card forced me to switch to Simple
Now supports Chase Amazon Visa! I just started using Android Pay and it works! Quick & easy! Your phone needs the NFC feature (if your phone was made in the last couple years, it may already have NFC). When NFC is on, and your screen is unlocked, just hold it near an Android Pay terminal and it will vibrate and open the Android Pay app. I think it's easier than getting my credit card out my wallet and I think it processes faster.
I got my Nexus 6pm from Google play in the U.S. Now I work in Japan. I was excited to see that Android Pay is available for Edy card. However when I open the app, I can only add credit card, no electrical money (電子マニー）option. After keying my MUFG credit card info (Japan credit card), it says that the bank does not participate in Android pay. I searched on-line. It seems that my app looks different from the others. Normally, at the first page, you'll see an "add" button. Tap it and you can select from credit card or electrical money, etc. I also switched my Nexus 6p to Japanese language, however, the same page showed. Any solution?
Works great, slick app and a free Costa! Started using this with my UK card last week and its great, I love that you see the transactions right in the app so no need to request a paper receipt anymore. If you have no data connection it still works perfectly but shows the transaction when you get back to a WiFi zone. I notice that my phone needs to be unlocked for it to work but I'm happy with that from a security point of view. Got a free Costa voucher included as a thanks for using it this month.
Google I'm betting on you! Samsung Pay seems to have the leg up with the ability to work with more retailers and legacy terminals. I am betting the Mighty Google can overtake them with something cool. I have a Note 4 and I am happy to have a pay option via NFC. I've only used it once and it asked me for a backup password at the point of sale. Hoping this is a one time verification, otherwise too many steps, swipe to unlock phone, scan terminal and backup password. Would not be good.
