App is great, the case isn't as high quality you'd expect though. I bought my case just under a year ago, but have barely touched my phone (I usually leave it at home). Even with this minimalistic use the case's edges have started to crack (all four). I've never dropped the phone and it's never in a tight space. It's definitely pretty but I just wished it would last a bit longer.
This review is really about the case, it looks nice, although much flimsier and cheaper feeling than the one i ordered with the phone. My biggest beef is the live button. Its useless. Awkward to reach. Really badly placed in the middle of the back. And it doesn't work. You have to practically hit it with a hammer to activate, and whats the point with a shortcut like camera which is right there on the screen which you are levering against to get the button to work. Tldr. Its just a printed case. Live part is useless
Worked great for awhile, then it stopped responding to the button. It was really cool when the button would show locations of the google earth photos. Now, the button causes the cine and the phone vibrates, but it doesn't do the function assigned. I've tried changing functions, reinstalling the app, restarting the phone. This time, reinstalling did reactivate the functions. it's frustrating that it works so inconsistently.
I really like the app and the case, my gripe is with the chip! Every time you press it, it plays a really loud chime which makes it almost annoying to use. It'd be nice if there was an option to disable the sound. Other than that, everything is lovely.
Like how the case was made interactive with the phone and it certainly feels safe. However the button is a bit stiff, especially considering this a smart phone with a touch screen and finger print scanner, and I'm a bit impatient so I'd love it if the slideshow had faster/ more options than daily and hourly. Fix the slideshow I would add a star and if the button becomes more sensitive I'll add a star
Poor. I bought the Pixel as soon as it was available in the UK. Then waited weeks until the Live Case was available. I thought the phone was too slippery on its own and hope the case would help. It hasn't. It's just as slippery and the coverage of the phone is poor too. The NFC button is pointless. I haven't found a good use for it yet. It's quicker to launch the app from home than it is to unlock the phone and then use both hands to hold and depress the button, it being so difficult to operate. Save your money and get a case that covers the phone properly. I'll be applying for a refund. Update: Crashes with Android Oreo. Has this been tested? Doesn't survive one rotation of the picture.
