Ratings and reviews

YT Music itself is great but this app is a joke, particularly the saved library. Music library apps are not exactly a new thing and yet somehow the billion dollar company can't include basic features like a scroll bar, a library search, or more than 2 sort methods. Oh, and they don't even group albums by their artist (or have an option to do so) when you filter your library by saved albums. Insanely incompetent and frustrating UX.

Nothing but constant irrelevant recommendations, and you have to scroll to get to what you want to listen to (the music that you saved). The library is cluttered with everyone you subscribed to, auto playlists that you can't remove, and maybe the playlists you made at the very bottom. The playlists can't be singled out even by changing the "sorting" method. People just want a music player without garbage clutter, especially if you're trying to quickly listen to something for sleep or a workout

as of 2026, this app has really lost its touch. I exclusively used YouTube music because of its amazing algorithm. The line up of songs from your initial song selection was well curated to the mood, genre, listening history, likes etc. also the songs were the "song version" and not video. since the new update(s), the line up/radio algorithm is completely off putting. Songs lined up are so far from taste, genre, etc from the initial song selection. the versions are remixes, even after disliking
