After a few minor updates it does not crash and works better with chromecast. Now they need to focus on organization and updates to ease of use. 1. I want to control how my recorded shows display. a. Can i hide or delete shows i have watched? b. Organize by the channel it was record from. I do not want to watch all the NCIS (USA, CBS, ETC). I only want the ones recorded from CBS say. 2. Maybe i can only record my show from one or two channels if it shows up in multiple places. 3. set the time allowed to skip on the DVR: 4. Do not switch my DVR recorded show with on-demand. 5. offer tiers(sports, movie, Cooking etc, etc) Right now it seems like a lot so sports and i do not want that. So i might pick a movie or cooking tier instead of the current sports one you have developed.
Service is good, the app is fine however the last update seems to have broken the ability for me to cast to an Nvidia Shield Android TV from my Nexus 6P. Casting to a 2nd generation Chromecast works fine, casting to the Shield from my wife's Nexus 5X is fine, but casting to the shield from the 6P has video buffering every 10 seconds or so. Google support helped me isolate the problem but we could not fix it. I may have to roll back to an earlier version of the app.
What can I say? It is a semi Descent TV streaming App but there are better options out there for the 35/month price with more channels and programming. The video skips and glitches although I have a strong 4G signal in my area where I watch. I cannot recommend this app. The only good feature is the Unlimited Cloud DVR but not worth the 35/month when Sling TV offers a lot of On Demand viewing content to compare and the video doesn't skip and glitch like with YouTube TV.
Overall I'm satisfied with YouTube TV. It serves up the content that is described with a very smooth experience. There are a few things that I would like to see added to the service: 1. The Cleveland-Akron area market needs to be added so they my community can watch local content on YouTube TV. 2. CNN needs to be added to the list of networks offered. 3. I would like to see a guide offered within the app, the guide should show what's playing and what is coming up next OR release a companion app that is a guide for my streaming package.
Worked well at first now it cuts out for 5 seconds every 30-60 seconds while casting. There is no tablet support. Seems like app was released prematurely. Most definitely I will after free trial.
I love it! It has almost all the channels that I need to rid myself of the Xfinity Internet/Basic TV. If only I could find a way to get Comcast to stop raising my internet price when I only want internet access.
