Tried it on a few pop/rock songs from the radio - it returned the result correctly and faster than Shazam or SoundHound. But the thing that made me give 5 stars is that it correctly identifies the performing artist and piece for classical music!! Bach, Mozart, Shostakovich piano, violin or full concert - truly amazing! Good job Google! Edit: upgraded Android to Nougat and now the widget freezes while listening ... Too bad, it was working fine before
Doesnt work I used to love this app until they changed it and you couldn't see your history anymore. Then it went back to the old way which is just perfect! I have Google Pixel and every time I try to use it it gets stuck in the middle of listening to the song. I have to either remove/add the widget again or restart my phone in order for it to start working again only to do the same thing over and over again.. its a very frustrating big. Please fix it !
I use it to put songs that I hear into Google Play Music playlists. This app makes that possible, but it's a cumbersome process - choose "Listen", then when the Play app starts, pause the playback immediately (I'm _already_ listening to it) and add it to a playlist. I would like it better if it could write directly to a selected GP playlist as an option alongside "Listen" and "Buy".
Accurate, fast and easy to use Great widget that has helped me many-a-time to find out a songs name. It does exactly what it says on the box without the need to change settings etc. And it's as simple as click and go. - 8/10 easy to use and it's very accurate however I'd like the ability to customize the size of the widget as it's currently far to big for my liking. (Nice size is "google search bar")
Useless This widget lacks so many key features which other apps don't. It's often unable to find the right song when other apps can, becomes useless when offline and doesn't even let you try again later, and feels cramped with its widget only interface. I can understand why Google wouldn't offer alternative services to Play Music when the right song is found, but the alternative option to Google the song or find it on YouTube would be much appreciated and would make this app usable. I'm going back to Shazam.
LOOK IN YOUR WIDGETS LOOK IN YOUR WIDGETS PEOPLE that is where it is eg. On the HTC you hold your finger on the homescreen and up they pop, works well but I couldn't find it at first, but it is there. Would have five stars if you could find it easy and it went to my all access account on Google play music instead of the site that costs per track. Works every time. HTC one x plus 4.2.2
First Play store release.
