After a factory reset, I couldn't get back into my phone. The only option for me was emailing my mother through my computer because she was my backup Google 2FA phone number. You need to make sure you locate your backup codes before doing a factory reset. This app should at least give you a warning if not connecting you to the FI app to give you a temporary code to use before resetting. Make sure your backup numbers are up to date.
There's no way to temporarily turn it off, similar to taking out my SIM card. It's a nice concept, but I use more than just Project Fi.
I didn't even know my pixel 2 had an eSim because none of the setup or written instructions mentioned that at any point? Did I miss something.
This is not an app for you to open. The setup process with the Pixel 2 XL was painless to setup Project Fi during initial setup. No need for some cards anymore thanks to eSim.
Thank you Google! You guys will change the way consumer's switch carriers. I have T-Mobile but hopefully one day every carrier will have this feature included in their own variant of Android phones.
Locked out of account because you can't get a text (with the verification code) without registering, and can't register without the code.
