I 've been missing many high priority emails due to notification issues with this app. Notifications not just come sporadically, they also come just when i log in on my gmail account in my desktop... disappointing issue.. as you lose the advantages of being able to answer emails promptly on transit...

This version doesn't show email notifications in the notification bar. Nor does it audibly alert you to new emails. Also push email is slow or doesn't work at all. I don't understand why Google can't make their original service work on Android. Seems every GMail update brings new disasters with it. What a shame.

Horrible colors! Why doesn't my dark theme transfer from my computer? Yahoo Mail does! If I delete emails from my phone, they're still there on my computer. I have to delete my email twice! That's very inconvenient! When I tap the notification, instead of opening Gmail, it spreads & shows each email individually. Why does it do that? It just keeps getting worse with each update. STOP UPDATING!

So useful, but since a time I don't receive the notification of new mails while using the mobile data. Specially in a pop3 connected account it doesn't sincronice.

The ads appearing in the inbox are absolutely irritating and disappointing.

It's a little basic in some areas, but this is my phone - so simpler is probably better. However, there is such a thing as too simple -- such as that I now have to capitalize words after punctuation myself. WTH? I thought the idea was to "improve" an app over time, not send it, and the basic standards of communication, back into the dark ages. Google... just because all the kids are (not) doing it, it doesn't make them , nor you, cool! I want the structural integrity of my language back.

Gmail is amazing. I have been using it for many years now, and I really have no reason to change. It is very user friendly, and easy to use, with a nice, yet simple interface and well thought out design. The different tabs, such as Primary, Social, Updates and Promotion are a great idea that work extremely well in practice. Emails get intelligently, and correctly put in their designated folders. All bills, and shipping (courier) info go to Updates tab, family and friends emails go to Primary, YouTube and Facebook notifications go to Social and any subscribed store sales and 'promotions' go to the promotions tab. Easy, and so damn efficient! Also, I have NEVER received spam in all the years I have used Gmail, the spam goes straight to the spam folder, without fail. Love it!

Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I find it extremely cumbersome to type in an email address if I wish to forward an email to one or several of my contacts. I now have to Remember an email address, enter the first few letters or digits of the address after which the address will be prompted. Please revert to the previous options or create another easier and more efficient way to forward emails. Thanx

It was fine for a long time until I stopped receiving email as of May 8th. I cant send either. When I tried to contact someone buy my alternate email for help I got an automated answer back. NO HELP AT ALL! Now what?? I guess I have to start all over again. I don't know why they bother having a help email when they don't expect to help you.

With the latest update I can't read emails. When I tap on an email keeps loading forever, even the older, already read emails won't open up. Used to love it, used to work flawless. Not anymore, if on the next update, problem is not fixed I will use another app. I see that am not the only one facing this issue. I tried reinstalling, cleared cache and data and problem persists. Only way I made it work was to uninstall updates and use the version that came with my phone but that's not a solution. Fix it and do it fast please.

It doesn't register deleted, moved or edited emails. As soon as I close the app or click on another portion of the app the emails go right back to where they were at least 3 times I have to repeat this got them to do what I want. Plus I can't mark anything as spam. Worst email app ive ever used

Don't like the open browser feature because it gets stuck in browser. I usually keep several Chrome tabs open and when Gmail opens the browser, I'm stuck. I have to hit the back button, but then it erases one of the my tabs when I do. It becomes hard to go back to my Gmail messages as I keep hitting the back button and it continues to erase my Chrome tabs. Also, the links do not open the page often. It just takes me to my last open tab. Basically, I'm stuck in Chrome and can't return to Gmail without losing all my Chrome tabs.

Why block inline images despite setting the app to allow images! Not all images are malicious. To the developers - USE YOUR LOAF! And another thing, why are all messages in my Sent folder missing, bar the 2 most recent ones? FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, IT'S A BLOODY DISGRACE.

It seems google fixed the 'opening mails keep loading' issue. Well thats what I realy like to say since its only partially fixed. So whats still wrong? No images are shown/loaded (my settings are set to 'always show'), both on a Wi-Fi & data connection. Still these half-baked fixes 😥

Useless Not for business or important emails as it never works. Says Update this, update that. THAN contact developers. sure.... I'll just miss all important work communication. Massively unsatisfying. I'm going to die of an aneurysm due to this frickn bs. Boss trying to get ahold of me an i can't even access it on a website. Thanks google commies for your bloatware. Not happy with this at all, I have my Gmail and Hotmail accounts linked and for what ever reason every time I delete emails in the Hotmail account they come right back into my inbox. I will have to delete the same email 3-5 sometimes 6 times. The same thing happens when I move an email from my inbox to another folder, it comes right back into my inbox. Never had this problem when my accounts were kept separate. Don't have the same problem with the Gmail email address, just the Hotmail email address. This is rediculous and extremely frustrating; please, please, PLEASE fix this bug.

Please add a select all function! At times I go days without checking my email on the desktop version. So junk and social emails can build up fast. Taking forever to check one by one. That and the buttons don't always work well on smaller screens. Otherwise great app.

It's been a couple of weeks now r that the application is soooo slow. It used to work just fine, but now it is almost useless. I don't get notifications and refreshing takes ages. Even the desktop gmail is facing problems. Google what is going on with your servers. Sort this out to get the five stars I have given to you from the first day

Was working great until latest update. Now, it shows I have mail in the inbox but when I click to view, it tells me there is no mail. I have to use the All Mail option rather than Inbox which means I have to wade through a lot of mail that I usually either auto-archive or delete.

Causing Google Play Services to crash when I open it. Please focus on stability, Google. Also, I had to root my android because certain apps couldn't access External SD Card due to upgrading from Android 4.3 to 7.1. Please don't ruin External SD Card feature. These androids around here only around about 2gb of Internal Memory. Plus I have 10gb+ of files and the company who makes androids adding bloatware doesn't help.

I cant seem to open my inbox and read the contents in the email. So i have a new email, I click it and all kt shows me is what I sent. Why cant I view my emails? Whats the point of having an email when you can even read them??

Over a year now there's been a problem with typing in Gmail on galaxy phones. It lags out changes words to whatever it pleases. And Google hasn't taken any steps to fix the problem so I'm removing the app and accessing my email through another app this is ridiculous. App is garbage.

Can't delete messages from yahoo inbox, they just keep appearing again and again. Gmail doesn't show new mails unless I OPEN the app and REFRESH it. Screen keeps jumping to the cursor. If you need to scroll down it's really inconvenient.

I have numerous Gmail addresses that my children use and the best way to monitor their incoming and outgoing emails is because I use Gmail. I am easily able to access their own email accounts is because of the most multifaceted Gmail programming. I have each synced to ensure that I am alerted at the same time as they are. Gmail definitely helps to keep your kiddos safer from the cyber threat. I am also enjoying the newer version of the most multifaceted Gmail programming that even allows me to sync with my yahoo account amongst others. I'm not only protecting the kids a lot easier, but I am saving time and valuable storage space. I WOULD NOT WANT ANY OTHER APPS FOR ORGANIZING THIS LIFE.

Gmail is the best email app. It's very easy to use and saves a lot of time. All mails are well organised. Google offers soo much better services than Yahoo and Microsoft Mail. You can sign in various social websites in just few clicks instead of registering and creating a separate account. I don't have to worry about spam anymore as Gmail automatically separates all unwanted ads and annoying mails in the the spam folder which can be easily cleared with one touch. Comment replies from YouTube and sponsored ads can be annoying though but it could be turned off.

Since the last update, I cannot delete the emails. On widget it doesn't refreshes the deleted items and if I open the app from widget, the email I have deleted is still there. Also, the emails with http are being destroyed, at least the ones from Linkedin Newsletter. That is bad for the app. Please fox these issues asap!

I have three emails that have question marks on them. My bank, Community America, my pharmacy, Auburn Pharmacy, and a radio station K-Love.I subscribed to those. Everything else I get should be sent to spam. I am now receiving inappropriate emails with naked women. This started after last 2 updates. DO SOMETHING! I'm not happy about this. Thank you.

I put my full name down on my Gmail account and no matter what, still came out as my youtube username when sending emails to employers. Is this how gmail operates? Well I will not use Gmail again to send emails to employers. Terrible terrible!!

Appears that the new update broke sync. I have had zero issues until today, when opening the app and seeing a "sync is off. Turn on in Inbox Settings". Turning on the sync simply results in all those settings reversing and still seeing the sync prompt. Never had this issue before.

Description given in Google play store not entirely accurate. It does not save time....it takes much more time to manage. Why does Google think they can decide what category to put a msg in. Very user UNfriendly. Does not save time...takes much longer to go through emails than any other platform I've used. There is no way to SORT emails, as with all other products. Will only delete one item at a time. Very difficult to use when e-mailing back and forth. Doesn't open the text. Don't use for anything critical . No option I could find to add folders and manage myself.

3 stars because the syncronization is awful. It's turned on, but every time I go to app I have to swipe down at least three times to be sure that everything was loaded. And when I remove an email, I have to swipe down (reload) again, because otherwise the email won't be deleted from server. I wish it would be the same as in web, so the delete button would remove an email instantly. Other than that, it's a great app. And I got used to three-time-swiping already...

I can't get rid of spam. My email address was sold to scammers. Not to mention they don't like being told where to shove it! So I'm screwed...unless you can help. Some of them are questionable porn/trafficking, fbi, homeland security ect..I don't know where to send these emails...plus there are too many. Help me please???

Please allow easier mail categorisation and sorting into folders and making rules for them . Also pls integrate google keep to gmail. Also yahoo mail is giving 1TB in mail account, so just wondering why dont you too offer the same ;)

I have never liked how the it always groups email conversations together with no option otherwise. Now the app insists that I enable the body sensors. It has gotten to a point I am interrupted 20 times or more when trying to compose an email.
