No 'mark unread' function. It hides email in conversations. You can't seem to kill conversation view so you can find email. (It says you can but you can't.) I agree with other posters that the app is getting worse with every update. It now has turned off sync unless I agree to let it sync everything... not going to happen Google. I LOVE Gmail, hate this app. Especially now. One more update to see if just Gmail sync is fixed again... or I'll uninstall.

Just another email app. does what email apps do, but also keeps a draft every few seconds of every email you write, even after its been sent. Really, really annoying. Emails written on a computer? 40 drafts in the conversation on my phone. And every single draft has to be opened, selected and discarded. If you can't fix it, then at least add a ' discard all drafts in this conversation' function! Also, this email app doesn't support pull. It's set to push so I had to uninstall it and find something better to use. A shame as I love Gmail, just hate this app

This app won't sync! It never notifies me when I do get an email, and half the time the only mail I can get any access to is over two weeks old! The confusing folders make it so that I cannot even locate half of the emails I'm searching for... Honestly this is a terrible app. I expect better from such a successful company as yours. Especially when I'm basically forced to have a Gmail account just to be able to access all the features on my phone! Fix it. And include a feature that allows you to select all, so that I can erase the 3,000+ emails in my inbox all at once. Basic stuff here guys. Good luck with the improvements.

if I could give zero stars I would. cannot turn off conversation mode (yes have it turned off in settings). Very slow if at all in displaying photo attachments. Fantom unread emails, it shows that there is unread messages but there are none available. Shows emails previously deleted. It has gotten worse since last update

7/26/16 Why do you continue to allow porn site operators to continuously use gmail as their primary response mailboxes. Are they paying you in some fashion??? Is gmail going to be switching to a porno site?? 6/9/17. Now it seems that they are allowing spammers access to all Gmail account holders to help them with the spam. If that's not what's happening then they have been hacked and are keeping it a secret and doing nothing to stop it. Putting it in my spam folder isn't what I call help.

Even though l have it set to sync on a very regular basis often it just doesn't. Hours later you realise that important email you were waiting for hasn't arrived. Even when you manually try and sync you have to refresh the screen 4-5 times before it actually does it, funny how my spam is always up to date but not my inbox! Dint even get me started on trying to actually search for older emails. Trying out this update, if no better l'm uninstalling.

If u reply to an email and then go to sent items your replies will be jumbled up. Instead of replies to a converstaion coming on top or below all replies are jumbled up. The reply is seen in the centre. Its a difficult app. Just because I am using gmail i am using it otherwise would not.

Can't Create Labels In-App Gmail may be the best, most-used mobile email app available, but I find it frustrating that you can't do everything in the mobile app that you can do with the computer app. I don't always have access to a computer and not being able to create labels, for instance (seems like it should be a basic function) is annoying. Come on, devs, you can do better!

If it wasn't the default app for android , I wouldn't be using it . This app has a mind of its own and never works the way I want it to work. Sometimes the attachments go and most of the time stuck . Same across all the flagship devices I have ever owned. Besides , Google collecting emails and sending to NSA.

The app has become terribly unstable. We will attempt to locate someone in our Circle and it will bounce back and forth between the current location and some where they had been much earlier. Back and forth back and forth. We never know exactly where they are now.

STILL manages to be unable to open photo attachments after 24hrs. They just show as black boxes, even attachments I have sent myself a few days ago which I checked opened after I had sent them but then they do not open a few days later. I like to keep for my records and don't want blank black boxes!

I don't know why it's so hard to make the conversation visible. I can only see the first message of the conversation and the replies are nowhere to be found. I've pressed all the buttons there are but nothing happened! Seriously gmail? Is it really so hard for you?

Gmail works! It has since I've had it. A must need app if you use Google for all your VIP needs. Gmail offers free storage from Google that comes with it. Believe me, after many years of using gmail, I've barely used All that Free storage. Very WORTH the time used along with added space. Plus, Talk about added security and protection, GOOGLE does! I'm safe. Thank You! 😊

Didn't understand what wrong with gogle apps, take it gmail or youtube, they both have connection issues. It keeps loading and nothing happens. I have to started to use other similar products as i know they don't care about how their products are performing and no fixes gets delivered.

Absolutely terrible. I can't send any emails with attachments. The emails get stuck in my outbox and remain in "queue." It's been two days now and the issue still hasn't been resolved.

Very handy and easy to use app. My best email app ever. Very cool interface. I use it to access all my emails aside from Google mail because those others aren't so cool.

Can't turn conversation view off but regardless, I wish it had ability to show sent emails in same list of all emails. BlackBerry Hub email is the standard to strive for.

Disabled contact and calendar permissions and it contantly brings up multiple pop ups telling me to turn the permissions back on every time I start the app. Worse yet, a pop up keeps appearing while I'm composing an email to try to get me to accidentally click on the settings to enable the permissions I disabled. Not cool. Other than that, great app for email.

3 lines button, settings, @account, inbox settings & inbox categories eliminates add on default stupidity. If you don't like all the new clutter, invasive permissions, etc, you can go back to stock version by clicking "uninstall". No email is deleted.

Very slow. Have to tap on messages and updates multiple times on my S8. It says one new message in promotions, I tap it, and it's not there. Must refresh. Honestly just very clunky and slow.

in the past I was able to touch the phone number indicated in an email and was able to call directly now i have to copy and paste it. not very effective anymore.

While syncing yahoo and hotmail it takes a longer time to load mails and the deleted mails reappear again and again. That needs to be fixed.
