Ratings and reviews

No hotword sound? No assistant use. Edit: I have converted back to Android to a Pixel 6 device and for security, privacy, and general usefulness it's VERY helpful to hear an activation chime when activating the assistant via the hotword. This used to be a two tone notification. For security reasons alone this should always be an option to turn on/off. Also, this would greatly reduce the frustration from yelling at the phone not knowing it's been listening the whole time.

The search results are totally worthless now, there are literally just four actual results and if your answer isn't in those, the rest are in little boxes and you have to click into every single one to know what it is. It would be fine if there were only 10 or so results in the boxes, but now you can't find anything. They ruined something so simple and the app renders the search engine useless since you can't find anything. Whatever happened to, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

5/11/23--Still terrible As of the last week or so, constantly getting the dreaded "something went wrong, couldn't conbect to Discover." Typically, I love the Discover feed, I have customized it into something the reflects my interest extremely well and presents excellent, timely information. However, it is now completely broken. None of the typical "fixes" seem to work. Or maybe they'll allow the feed to refresh one time before it crashes again. I sure hope Google fixes this.

What's new

• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying "cancel my navigation" "what's my ETA?" or "what's my next turn?"
• It's easier to access privacy settings from the homescreen. Just tap your Google Account profile picture.
