Still Disappointing - now with useless feeds which I can't disable. I used to be able to hold Home and manually select text on any page, which would then get passed to search. This was recently replaced with "[What's on my screen?]", which attempts to parse the page automatically. This never guesses what I'm after and most of the time just says it can't find anything at all.
Regarding the recent update, I did not want this bloated excess forced into an extra pane on my home screen. It does not add any value that other apps I already have. The random garbage news is especially bad. It defaults to to make things turned on. I'd like to see these new "features" removed or the ability to completely disable them. Update: somehow figured out how to remove that panel, but new update put it back again. Wasteful resource hog that I don't want, and can't disable!
Yet another update and no swipe to dismiss on the feed. Bring it back!! Whomever had this idiotic idea should be marched in front of all Google employees and have their Googliness summarily removed.
This app has gone from useful to annoying very quickly. You can no longer turn off the feed, which causes my battery to drain quicker while it downloads useless stories for me to read. I've stopped utilizing this app at all by signing out as it's the only way to stop it from spamming you anymore. It outright ignores when I try to change the setting to not follow anything. Very disappointed in Google.
Let us turn off "stories to read". This used to be a useful app to get weather forecasts, traffic updates and a summary of my calendar events and reminders for the day. Now I never open the app and have moved away from the Google Now launcher. I know where I want to go to get my news, if you are going to force suggestions, at least offer it on a separate page because as it is, I can't see myself ever using this again.
Tried several different things and the rep. at the store did too. Ok Google voice commands simply do not work on my DROID Turbo II. Physically pressing and holding the home button is the ONLY way it's works...pitiful work, people!!!
