Review from Gedas Bevirsis
Okay Google I wonder when we'll be able to activate Google now with Okay Google in UK
Looks great and performs well, but needs more localization. It's Google Search - what can I say? When it comes to the Web, it will find almost anything and because it is embedded deeply within Android, it works flawlessly in this aspect... The localization however, is appalling as some sporting codes (such as the AFL) are missing entirely, whilst other content (such as the television and video cards) and features are "hidden" from (user) view due to the lack of localization, or otherwise unavailable.
For the love of... Updated for current versions: How do we not have a Dark mode yet! Give our batteries a break and utilize AMOLED properly! I'd like to not have my phones screen turn into a flashlight, everytime I swipe to the click bait article Now Cards.. It would be also nice to set more visible article text for preview. I'm almost finding myself banning more websites then reading the articles provided.
Can't turn off OK GOOGLE App is listening for Ok Google in the search bar on my home screen even though the feature is turned off. Latest updates don't fix. Reverted to basic version(fixed issue) and will try again if a new update comes out. Will 5 star once fixed
Doesn't allow user control Update: I can curate my news sources now. Hooray! Thank you google. Old review: I need to be able to filter out untrustworthy sources that clog my feed and cause me to stop using Google Now. Fox is not a news source and I need to block it for the app to be useful. Please allow me to curate my personal phone Google Now page; I'm a big, adult person.
Too BRIGHT I imagine like like others, I use this when driving so I can keep my hands on the wheel but still make a call etc. However there is no night mode or anything. So I keep the phone unlocked using Waze which does go into night mode, only to say ok google and it switch over to listening from an all blinding bright screen. Can this be fixed?
Widget size is wrong On my phone the Google Now widget doesn't fill all of the space I've given it. Using the Google Now launcher on my Nexus 6 (or both previous phones) I have made the widget the full size of a home screen panel, but the content always leaves an empty space at the bottom of the widget roughly equivalent in height to a 1x1 widget. This is a waste of precious home screen space and means fewer cards are displayed. Why is this?
- Improved look and feel of the search page
- New doodles are designed for in-app experience
- Offline voice actions (play music, turn on wifi, turn on flashlight) (*Available in US only)
- Web pages open directly inside the app
