Pro tips:
• Gesture cursor control: Slide your finger across the space bar to move the cursor
• Gesture delete: Slide left from the delete key to quickly delete multiple words
• Make the number row always available (enable in Settings → Preferences → Number row)
• Symbols hints: Show quick hints on your keys to access symbols with a long press (enable in Settings → Preferences → Long press for symbols)

Ratings and reviews

Just keeps getting better. Gboard revolutionized my user experience way back with the introduction of swipe typing. Recently, I have been playing around with options for how the Gboard looks and behaves. By doing that, I have fine-tuned it to fit my preferred way to input text. I'm allowed to customize the input to make it easier and quicker to get things done.

The lastest update has badly broken text entry somehow. It appears there's been the introduction of some kind of lag, especially noticeable in ElementX, such that the last word you enter in a text field often becomes badly mangled when you tap a control to submit the text field. You shouldn't be breaking fundamental features like the keyboard. Testing is fundamental.

The first thing I've done as soon as I've booted up a new phone for the last 10-ish years has been to switch from my default keyboard to Gboard. This app has always performed exactly as advertised and expected...until now. The last few months, in voice-to-text, any time I use a contraction, for example "gonna", it automatically changes it to "going to" or "Ghana", etc. ALL contractions! Also, if you highlight text, the options for "cut", "copy", "web search", etc. are buried behind the arrow.
