Pro tips:
• Gesture cursor control: Slide your finger across the space bar to move the cursor
• Gesture delete: Slide left from the delete key to quickly delete multiple words
• Make the number row always available (enable in Settings → Preferences → Number Row)

Ratings and reviews

So much is wrong with this app. First the key board is to small and it won't get larger. No Emojis show up in my messages or texts or emails when I choose them. And the fact I had to download a keyboard in order to text or email or anything is just plan stupid. And that happened over two years ago when I did an update on my system. Just wish Google and any of the other systems ( Moto, and Microsoft,and whom ever else) stop messing up what's not broke.

Very good WHEN it works, however, as of 30.12.2023 the current version (13.6.11.574113912-release-arm64-v8a) randomly fails to pop up when needed, rendering Google's own current "flagship" Pixel 8 Pro nothing more than a fancy chocolate teapot. With no way to force the keyboard to show up the only temporary workaround I found is to reboot the phone, which is ridiculous for Google's "best" phone. What a shame.

The first thing I've done as soon as I've booted up a new phone for the last 10-ish years has been to switch from my default keyboard to Gboard. This app has always performed exactly as advertised and expected...until now. The last few months, in voice-to-text, any time I use a contraction, for example "gonna", it automatically changes it to "going to" or "Ghana", etc. ALL contractions! Also, if you highlight text, the options for "cut", "copy", "web search", etc. are buried behind the arrow.
