My phone came with this already activated. I could find no way of turning it off and was about to send it back. I had one more try and managed to get rid of it. This is an utter nightmare and I now avoid it like the plague. 90% of people will never use this intrusive piece of junk so why not make it optional rather than impose it upon the rest of us?
I can't keep it turned off. I know some people need it but God damn it most of us don't. It should be a SIMPLE SETTING TO TURN IT OFF until it is turned back on if ever. VOICE IS TOO LOUD. I hate this annoying time waster.
Well, it does it's job! It looses a point for being hard to turn off, it was a test of my mental capacity trying to turn it off! I felt like I was on The Crystal Maze! It took me 20 odd minutes trying to turn it off as it renders gestures useless, or if it doesn't I did something wrong. However it's great for helping me when I've not got my reading glasses on.
I've never used this app myself, but I'd like to let everyone know that this app was not made to be entertaining, it's not a video game or a way to pass the time, it was made to be USEFUL, to be used by those who are visually impaired. So to all of the reviewers who have called this app "boring", I say: Calm down! It's a ACCESSIBILITY APP!
An irritating app. Always notifying to download one or other languages to download even after downloading the same. It is too much disturbing me. I cannot use my phone as this useless notifications are coming on the top of the phone when I switch on and unable to read other messages. Can't you fix the bug/problems permanently.
Select to Speak improvements :" 1) The FAB should be made transparent. 2) There should be a setting to reduce the output volume. 3) It is not able to read the text blocks in the Facebook app but able to read the attached link previews. 4) It has trouble reading text in the body of emails, it just hangs. 5) It should be able to read texts in a text field, paragraph by paragraph, rather than the whole thing.
