Ratings and reviews

Brilliant, except when it isn't. Great mapping, hands free, streaming and podcast access. Driving has never been easier or more entertaining. Those cars without Android Auto are at a huge disadvantage. It's so good, that when it doesn't operate, it's annoying, stressful and sometimes dangerous. Unfortunately the platform isn't particuarly stable, so sometimes it doesn't connect. It works brilliantly for months, but then disappears, always at the most inconvenient moment. A Google problem.

Super convenient way to use the map and listen to podcasts using the Google apps (Google maps and Google podcasts). I also like how it reads new messages and let's you respond by voice. It seems to reconnect well when stopping and starting the vehicle. I am not sure how this will change when Google podcasts is no longer available - YouTube Music doesn't seem to integrate as well. The app works well in one vehicle with a big screen (truck), but is not compatible with my other vehicle (car).

Works great, BUT... Every time there is an Android OS update, it stops connecting. My Jeep is a 2018 and I still have to plug it into the USB. My USB cord works perfectly fine. It actually used to drive me insane thinking it was my cord all of the time. I have cleared cache and data in the app and literally everything else you can think of troubleshooting-wise. It doesn't catch up to the OS update for a while after it comes out. Very inconvenient.
