To use Android Auto, you’ll need a phone running Android 6.0 or higher and an active data connection.
Over 400 car models now support Android Auto! To find out if your car display is compatible and how to enable it, check your owner’s manual or contact your car’s manufacturer. Once enabled, use a high quality USB cable to connect your phone to your car, then launch Android Auto to get going!

Ratings and reviews

The app works well most of the time. Occasionally, usually when leaving an area with Wi-Fi, the audio will stutter and I have to disconnect and reconnect my phone to fix it. Also once in a while the Android Auto app in my truck will disconnect, even though the cable is still connected and charging the phone. I unplug and reconnect the phone, and that usually fixes it. These are rare occurrences. The map integration is very good, better than Toyota's own implementation on our Avalon.

No full screen maps (2022 Elantra N). Maps take up 3/4 of the screen. The rest of screen shows static icons of things you aren't using. The app used to work on your phone without connecting to your car. Now, the app only works while connected to the vehicle. App is much easier to config on the phone, so I'm not sure why the app launching without the vehicle was removed. There also doesn't appear to be a native music app. Music apps that are supposed to work don't always show up.

This app is terrible. The app all of a sudden during a roadtrip wants to disconnect and now it's not coming up on my phone at all. Car has been saying "app-connect" for hours and it's driving me crazy. Get this app working please!! And fix the errors. I can't tell you how many times a day it stops and take minutes to reconnect. It's seriously going to cause major issues on the road especially when people are relying on it for navigation!
