About this app

SafetyCore is a Google system service for Android 9+ devices. It provides the underlying technology for features like the upcoming Sensitive Content Warnings feature in Google Messages that helps users protect themselves when receiving potentially unwanted content. While SafetyCore started rolling out last year, the Sensitive Content Warnings feature in Google Messages is a separate, optional feature and will begin its gradual rollout in 2025. The processing for the Sensitive Content Warnings feature is done on-device and all of the images or specific results and warnings are private to the user.

Phone started locking up and slowing down recently. This phone is only a few months old and was working flawlessly until recently. Apps don't load or load very slowly, pictures don't show up on news feeds. Wish I would have had an option to not have it installed. Heard it is reinstalled in background after deletion. Don't trust an app that is secretly installed that scans your complete phone contents.

I do not agree with spyware. Spyware to nearly everyone is something that installs without consent or notifying the user, as well as "scans" content. Also it's hidden and hard to find info about. The page in the app store doesn't explain anything and was not possible to find without having a link provided, thus making it more of a reason to uninstall the spyware. Did not even get a notification that this would be installed and why or what it does. I encourage every to uninstall.

I don't think SafeSearch-style features for Android are a bad idea, but I'm not ready to have the choice to use them taken away, or to pay a heavy cost in storage, network, or power. It is an especially bad time for this as Android has been unstable this year. I hope programs being unable to consistently resume is just a coincidence and not related.
