I really like this app. It's easy to use, the planets' orbit line is nice, and the search function has yet to fail me. But it does get glitchy with GPS sometimes. So when recalibrating won't realign it with the sky, I uninstall and reinstall. Sometimes it needs reinstalling a few days later, because the hickup won't immediately clear. But competitive apps are less readable, and very clunky.

This is really useful feedback - thank you. Regarding the calibration issue - it's almost certainly a hardware issue. We don't store anything that an uninstall/install cycle would clear...it's likely that the phone just happens to self calibrate during that time. Not much space here to explain so drop us an email at skymapdevs@gmail.com.

I thoroughly enjoy Sky Map! I began using it several years ago wondering what brilliant light was beaming from the cosmos - directly visible as I stepped out my front door. I'm a curious person, love the outdoors & wanted to know what my eyes were beholding. I found Sky Map & the answer came quickly (Venus, at that moment) & that expanded my interest and led me to learn more. I was surprised when I was able to both zoom in and take a picture! Also, FREE & NO ADS ! 👍🌌☄️👍✨

Enjoyed the app for a while. Simple with good options. Recommended to others over the years. However, the last several times I've tried to use it, it is WAY off, for example: telling me the sun is ~15° below sunrise when I'm watching the sunset.... I have GPS, data and wifi on (or off) trying different settings to determine location. Tried all the troubleshooting tips, but it can't figure it out, I guess. Uninstalled because it was unusable (and I'm not techy enough to dig deeper).

We're sorry to see you go after years of support! If the Sun is misplaced, it's usually a time zone or location permission issue. We've tried to make that more obvious in the app. If you ever return, a screenshot of your Diagnostics page sent to skymapdevs@gmail.com helps us investigate.
