Stopped working months ago using Note4 on Nexus Player. Nexus Player OTA update to Android 'O' and still not working... Connects then back to connect to device screen with no error message. Lots of people reporting this so if yours works then good for you. Only needed when I typing on certain apps. I have an idea this will never be fixed. I love my Nexus Player, guess it will be relegated to an older TV when I get Nvidia shield TV.
It hardly keeps a stable connection between a Samsung S7 Edge and an Nvidia Shield TV 2017 through Bluetooth. If I leave the phone locked, I have to either restart this app or turn the Bluetooth on and off. The keyboard typing also lags between the phone and the Shield. It would be easier to set up a connection if we could manually input the IP address of the device we want to connect with this app.
It's a great convenience - if it stops trying to be too smart in input. The Android TV default keyboard does not work with hardware keyboards, and now this app fails to work with smarter software keyboards (like HTC's default TouchPal)... Stop doing "a Microsoft"! (i.e. good/great product, retards for UI/UX guys)
....but it definitely needs to register touch a whole lot faster. All in all, a decent option if you can't find your Nexus Player remote, but it lacks the responsiveness to replace said remote. Update - App no longer works. Sees my devices (Shield TV & Nexus Player), but is no longer able to connect to them.
The keyboard function doesn't work. When you type on your phone it's supposed to allow you to hit enter and then sends your input to the TV, but it doesn't. It just sits there on what you typed and never gets sent. What's the point? At least re-enable the keyboard on the TV itself so we can use that as an alternative.
Look, it works but lacks key functionality like changing the volume or even shutting off the tv. I'll have to stick to my IR blaster remote (app) even though this one works much more reliable...
