Ratings and reviews

EDIT: latest update has made it so picture-in-picture doesn't work at all. Will be canceling premium if not fixed. picture in picture mode has stopped working reliably. if I open back up the full app to select a new video or do any other kind of interaction it will not go back to the picture in picture mode. Just close the app with the video playing in the background. I have to close the app entirely and open it back up again to get it to work. extremely annoying.

YouTube is failing again. Clearly no one cares about YouTube functionality given the 3.9 rating. Every update hasn't corrected anything and I am still experiencing malfunctions with buffering. internet speed is fine, and I cleared the cache, restarted, and reinstalled. Same failed issues from over a year ago. Found same reports in many online forums. And guaranteed, no fix incoming based on those reports. Cancelling my account.

April 2025 - it eats battery like it has a grudge. I'm having to fully charge my phone twice a day now where I didn't have to a month ago. it's mostly screen off time as I listen to videos as I work. YouTube keeps fixing an app that's not broken until it breaks your phones battery. I can do the same thing using my Firefox browser and only uses half my battery in a full day. it's the app, not the videos.
