This App works fine on my older Android devices. It is fast, intuitive, and has a well designed user interface. It is best for searching, viewing, saving to favourites or 'watch later' - but not for uploading or managing your own channels' videos. It has probably never stalled or frozen up on my cheap devices. Sometimes reading and leaving comments is a little difficult due to their display sizes. Overall, it's very good to excellent, but I'd still like a few tweaks to the layout and graphics.
Yeah but no As much as I love YouTube and have a number of favorite channels, I do not like having to wait through all the ads. This ruins the experience. I have taken to exciting out of what ever I'm watching until either I don't get an ad or I at least get a skip ad. Please fix this extremely annoying feature. It was better and tolerable when there was only ads every few videos instead of every video. I don't come on YouTube to watch ads. That's what TV is for. I'll give a higher rating when this is fixed.
DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SPOILERS. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SPOILERS. Why am I seeing contents related to Game of Thrones and One piece or some other show that I haven't watched yet on my feed. Do you have any option to mute such notifications and suggestions? If not, then do something about it. DO NOT SPOIL CONTENTS FOR ME.
I'm drowning! ...in ads. Playlist? Ad between each video. Chromecast video list? Ad every time I check the list, add something or jump to a different app. Random browsing of YouTube? Ad before every video. I don't begrudge some ads, but when they're five MINUTES long, can't be skipped, and don't have the link to whatever 'main' video that they were talking about. Argggghh! 😤 What's new is significantly out of date.
Has gone from my favorite app to one I absolutely loathe. I can't open links with the app without getting a black screen and the message "There was a problem while playing. Tap to retry." Opening the same link in the Chrome app works fine though. I've tried all the suggestions online: clearing the app cache, reinstalling, etc. The ONLY thing that temporarily fixes it is turning the phone off and on again. I'm tired of restarting my phone just to watch a stupid video. Uninstalling and using the browser instead.
Whilst I'm fairly positive about the app itself - it's free after all - I have noticed that every update in recent times has come with the same generic explanation of why. It'd be nice to have a more specific message just to give me a clearer understanding of what you are adding to my phone's memory...
The redesigned YouTube app makes it easier to find what you love. Now your recommended videos, favorite channels, and subscriptions are all just a few taps away. You can also create fun videos with new in-app editing tools.
