was once great Great app before Google bought Zagat and messed it up for a year. They almost got it somewhat fixed, and now it is completely unusable.
Terrible Only specific cities, cannot search by current location or zip code... what a joke... checking backing a few updates later and the content is still a joke unless you live in a metropolitan area... even then the options are sparse compared to other similar services
Useless This app only pertains to a few cities. This makes it somewhat useless for travelers. There are many ways to find a good place to eat in a large city. Personally I would like the help finding a good place to eat in some of the smaller cities I visit. I live in the largest city in my state, this app does not list any restaurants in my location. Google should take their name of this app it is a disgrace.
Strangely useful Despite the app only being useful in major cities, and the unintuitive interface (it's not possible to directly search for restaurants), I'm giving it 4 stars for being useful for having an interface that enables discovering the best restaurants. Its only navigational method, the "best of" lists, are great for learning about new places whether I'm interested in price, location, or a certain cuisine. In that aspect, it's easier than yelp; it does one job, and does it well.
Again... used to love it Since the latest update it freezes before it even opens... both of the restaurant apps I used to love now do this - open table and zagat. It's depressing and annoying especially as I've come to rely on them so much when travelling.
ASSumes that you are a stranger stuck in a major city When 75% of urban occupants live, work, shop and eat in outlying communities, it takes a limited mind to believe that all the 'best' restaurants are in the crumbling inner cities. When it takes more than an hour to drive from the airport to the Loop, only a glutton for punishment would go there go eat.
