Forced to have account I Will be uninstalling updates. I don't want to create a login just to use this app and control my premium priced camera. Way to piss your customers off, gopro. And now I have to remember the app is called "capture" instead of looking for the "gopro" app to control my "gopro" camera. For a company that's supposed to be leading the action cam market this is a huge step backwards.
Can't use Can't log in, trying to crate account with two different of my email accounts and it gives me a message that says that those two emails have been used already. When I click on "forgot my password" and put in either of my emails it says that I do not have an account. Great job people
They broke it The old version was great. It was simple, and it worked the way it was supposed to. Now, you have to login with your online account username and password. There's just one problem: they don't work anymore, and there's no telling when/if they are going to work again. Awful. UPDATE: Login credentials are now working. Unfortunately, there's an in-app popup ad that turns this into useless hijackware. Buy the cloud service, or you can't access camera controls.
Can't reset email and terrible tech support It took two calls and 19 minutes for a technical support rep. to tell me they can't do something as simple as assist in resetting my password. Even more comical was I had to send screenshots to prove the app even had a login page. So basically these so called tech support reps have no clue this exists but are supposed to be our main support and now I'm just locked out after unsuccessfully trying to login. I was told the app is to blame, lol. Ridiculous.
Sign up mandatory? I needed to access my camera and set it up. It just updated this app and removed the old, I thought ok. Went out for a shoot on a location without internet. And I couldn't control the camera. Why do I have to register to control my camera. I don't care about your cloud stuff and other social nonsense.
Gopro Great Has there been a security leak at Gopro? Come clean, tell us. I have both a Hero 4 Silver & Hero 4 Session + Smart remote, I now find that the same app is now called Connect & I have to sign in all over again with a new password. Crazy, what a way to treat your customers. Have not tried app yet, as my cameras are elsewhere at the moment, not too hopeful. This has put me off buying the new Hero 4. Will look elsewhere. I may even land up deleting the app. Very unprofessional.
